V7 / Host Detective conflict of interest

Also I would like to add that I only submitted 1 review of V7 on Hostdetective.  

I dont want anyone to get the idea that I submitted one for every site I am having hosted there.

Well... lets put it this way... v7 owns it... so he has the highest rating in Shared Hosting

But I\'m sure that\'s because a lot of people know it here!

I hope to get my web host in a top 10!

don\'t mean to sound bad but what is the conflict of interest here?  do you all have stock in it or something?

I don\'t really trust the Host Detective ratings either, since V5 sponsors Host Detective.  I\'m sure they\'re a great company I just want to know who owns who before I take opinions to heart.

We own both the Internet Hosting Report and Host Detective, so there very well may be a conflict of interest.

But, the reviews are legit and many of the customers are here on this forum, so you can ask them directly if you\'re so inclined.

I have known JS for a while now and I have to say he is one of the most professional persons I have met online.  While he owns both V7 and Hostdetective I can tell you that he would not manipulate reviews simpliy to make V7 look better than it is.  

Here is a practical example.  I own a server that I run a few of my websites off of.  I also have 5 websites on the V7 servers.  If I was not confident in V7 or JS would I have those websites on their servers?  No, I would have them on my server.

I have also recommended V7 to many people who where in the market for web hosting.

okay, that\'s fine.  I\'m sure it\'s a great company, it just looks kinda funny when you go to the V5 page and they\'re talking about their top rating on Host Detective, then you visit Host Detective and see advertisements for V5.  I mean, it\'s good that you\'re honest, but it might be smart to branch out a bit on V5 and talk about some other rating services that you have good scores on but aren\'t so directly affiliated with.

We\'ve been spending quite a bit of time on other web host directories, too. But it is very time consuming.
