Is the web cam actually plugged into the Linux box or is the Linux box just the web server?

oof..
Depends on the camera .. some of them play nice with Linux and some require a lot of tweaking.

Camserv is one (rpmfind.net) and you\'ll probably have to set up video4linux too.

You can also look on Freshmeat, SourceForge, Linuxapps, and Google.
