I can\\\'t access siteuptime.com... that\\\'s a bad service indicator for an uptime monitor

Thanks for the IPSentry link... I\\\'m downloading it now to try it out.

Oh, ok, well I didn\\\'t notice it, was probably real brief, maybe server reboot, or something normal.

Probably.  I\\\'m using IPSentry now... I prefer this a lot. I\\\'m always online and my network is rock solid here so I can just monitor my servers myself without paying for it.

I think you guys jinxed things. I downloaded IPSentry and now sites I\\\'m monitoring have started to go down. It must be some kind of secret DOS script!

Seriously?  I use trusty old ping, telnet and a few other tools to monitor my servers.  I have it sending e-mails and text messages to my phone when it dies.  I also check it external the same way from other servers.

No everything\\\'s working right. One of the sites coincidentally went down right after I started monitoring, but it came back up later

Don\\\'t forget Dotcom Monitor Website Monitoring.  They are leaders in the industry, with agents on three continents and even have a web stress load testing tool that most services don\\\'t have.  They have everything from free to very expensive plans, depending on needs, budget, etc.
